1.3 Scope
This Cookie Policy applies to cookies and similar technologies used in connection with:
- the SnobBots.com public website;
- account registration and authentication;
- the Platform dashboard;
- subscription and billing functionality;
- Platform preferences;
- security functionality;
- analytics and performance measurement; and
- other Platform functionality where cookies or similar technologies are used.
Customer-deployed chatbot functionality is addressed separately in Section 1.7 below.
1.4 What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small data files that websites and online services may place or store on a user’s browser or device.
Cookies can perform different functions, including:
- maintaining login sessions;
- authenticating users;
- protecting accounts;
- remembering preferences;
- maintaining website functionality;
- measuring website performance;
- understanding how services are used; and
- supporting permitted marketing or campaign measurement.
Cookies may be temporary or remain on a device for a specified period.
1.5 First-Party & Third-Party Cookies
Cookies may be either first-party cookies or third-party cookies.
First-party cookies are set by SnobBots.com or through systems operating directly on behalf of the Platform.
Third-party cookies may be set by external providers whose technologies are integrated with the website or Platform.
Depending upon the functionality used, third-party technologies may include services supporting:
- authentication;
- payments;
- analytics;
- security;
- communications;
- customer support; or
- other Platform functionality.
1.6 Similar Technologies
In addition to conventional browser cookies, SnobBots.com may use similar technologies where necessary or appropriate.
These may include:
- browser local storage;
- session storage;
- authentication tokens;
- pixels or tags;
- software development technologies;
- device or session identifiers; and
- other mechanisms performing similar functions.
References to “cookies” within this Policy may include these similar technologies where appropriate.
1.7 Customer-Deployed SnobBots Chatbots
Customers may deploy SnobBots-powered chatbots or related Platform functionality on websites and digital services that they independently operate.
Such functionality may require technologies necessary to:
- load the chatbot;
- maintain a user session;
- preserve conversation state;
- provide security;
- maintain technical functionality; or
- provide other features selected by the customer.
Where SnobBots functionality operates on a customer’s website, the customer is responsible for determining its own obligations concerning cookies, privacy notices and consent for technologies deployed through its website.
SNOBBOT may provide customers with relevant technical information reasonably necessary to assist them in understanding the technologies used by the Platform.
1.8 Customer-Added Tracking
Customers must not use SnobBots functionality to circumvent applicable cookie, tracking or consent requirements.
Where a customer independently implements:
- advertising pixels;
- analytics technologies;
- conversion tracking;
- remarketing;
- behavioural tracking; or
- other tracking technologies
on its own website or services, the customer remains responsible for those technologies and any associated consent or disclosure requirements.
1.9 Applicable Privacy Requirements
The use of cookies and similar technologies may be subject to different legal requirements depending upon the user’s location and the purpose of the technology.
Where applicable law requires consent before a non-essential cookie or similar technology is placed or accessed, SNOBBOT will use an appropriate consent mechanism.
Strictly necessary technologies required to provide requested Platform functionality may operate without consent where permitted by applicable law.
SECTION 2 – Categories of Cookies & Similar Technologies
2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
Strictly necessary cookies and similar technologies are required for SnobBots.com and the Platform to operate securely and correctly.
They may be used for purposes including:
- account authentication;
- maintaining logged-in sessions;
- session management;
- security and fraud prevention;
- protecting against unauthorised access;
- maintaining essential Platform functionality;
- processing user requests;
- maintaining network and system security; and
- remembering privacy or cookie-consent choices.
Because these technologies are necessary to provide requested functionality or protect the Platform, they cannot ordinarily be disabled through our cookie-preference controls.
Users may be able to block them through browser settings, but doing so may prevent parts of SnobBots.com or the Platform from functioning correctly.
2.2 Authentication & Session Technologies
The Platform may use cookies, tokens, local storage or similar technologies to identify authenticated users and maintain secure sessions.
These technologies may enable us to:
- recognise that a user has signed in;
- maintain the user’s session;
- prevent repeated authentication requests;
- associate authorised requests with the correct account;
- maintain security controls; and
- terminate or expire sessions where appropriate.
Authentication technologies are generally considered essential to the operation of authenticated Platform functionality.
2.3 Security Technologies
Cookies and similar technologies may be used to help protect:
- user accounts;
- login processes;
- Platform infrastructure;
- forms;
- transactions;
- integrations; and
- other Platform functionality.
Security technologies may assist with detecting or preventing:
- fraudulent activity;
- malicious requests;
- automated abuse;
- unauthorised access;
- session manipulation;
- cross-site request attacks; and
- other cybersecurity threats.
2.4 Functional Cookies
Functional cookies and similar technologies may be used to remember choices made by users and provide enhanced Platform functionality.
Depending upon the Platform configuration, these may remember information such as:
- interface preferences;
- language settings;
- dashboard preferences;
- display choices;
- previously selected options; and
- other user preferences.
Where applicable law requires consent for functional technologies, they will only be activated after the required consent has been obtained.
2.5 Analytics & Performance Cookies
Subject to applicable consent requirements, SnobBots.com may use analytics and performance technologies to understand how visitors and users interact with the website and Platform.
These technologies may help us understand:
- numbers of visitors;
- pages or Platform areas accessed;
- navigation patterns;
- feature usage;
- session activity;
- approximate performance characteristics;
- technical errors;
- browser and device characteristics;
- general usage trends; and
- Platform performance.
We may use this information to analyse, maintain and improve SnobBots.com and the Platform.
2.6 Platform Operational Analytics
The Platform may generate operational information concerning customer accounts and their use of Platform functionality.
This may include information concerning:
- chatbot activity;
- conversation volumes;
- captured leads;
- AI usage;
- tokens;
- characters;
- messages;
- credits;
- content generation;
- website audits;
- training activity; and
- other account or feature usage.
These operational records are not necessarily created through browser cookies and may form part of the core Platform Service.
Where such processing involves personal data, it is governed by the SnobBots.com Privacy Policy.
2.7 Marketing & Campaign Measurement Technologies
Where implemented and permitted by applicable law, SnobBots.com may use marketing or campaign-measurement technologies to understand the effectiveness of promotional activities.
These technologies may be used to:
- identify the source of website visits;
- measure campaign performance;
- understand conversions;
- attribute visits to advertising or marketing campaigns; and
- measure engagement with promotional content.
Where consent is legally required, such technologies will not be activated until the relevant consent has been obtained.
Users may subsequently withdraw that consent through the available cookie-preference mechanism.
2.8 Advertising Technologies
If SnobBots.com uses advertising or remarketing technologies, they may enable relevant third-party providers to process information concerning interactions with SnobBots.com for advertising measurement or related purposes.
SNOBBOT will not categorise advertising technologies as strictly necessary merely to avoid applicable consent requirements.
Where applicable law requires prior consent for advertising or remarketing technologies, such consent will be requested before those technologies are activated.
2.9 Payment-Related Technologies
Third-party payment providers may use cookies or similar technologies when users interact with subscription, billing or payment functionality.
Such technologies may be used for purposes including:
- secure transaction processing;
- fraud prevention;
- authentication;
- payment-session management; and
- regulatory or security requirements.
Some payment-related technologies may be strictly necessary for the requested transaction.
The relevant payment provider may independently process information in accordance with its own privacy and cookie practices.
2.10 Third-Party Authentication Technologies
Where SnobBots.com provides authentication through an external provider, that provider may use cookies or similar technologies necessary to authenticate the user and securely complete the sign-in process.
The use of such technologies may also be subject to the privacy and cookie practices of the relevant authentication provider.
2.11 Customer Support & Communication Technologies
Where customer-support, live-chat or communication functionality is provided through a third-party service, that service may use cookies or similar technologies to:
- maintain a support session;
- identify an existing conversation;
- provide requested communication functionality;
- maintain security; or
- remember relevant support preferences.
Where such technologies are non-essential and applicable law requires consent, they will be subject to the appropriate consent mechanism.
2.12 Chatbot Technologies
SnobBots-powered chatbots may use technical mechanisms necessary to provide chatbot functionality.
Depending upon implementation, these may assist with:
- loading the chatbot;
- maintaining conversation state;
- identifying a conversation session;
- maintaining technical functionality;
- protecting the chatbot against abuse; and
- remembering relevant session information.
Where the chatbot is deployed on a customer’s website, responsibility for providing the appropriate cookie notice and obtaining any legally required consent may rest with the customer operating that website.
2.13 Session Cookies
Some cookies operate only for the duration of a browser or Platform session.
These may be deleted automatically when the browser is closed, the session expires or the user logs out, depending upon the relevant technology.
2.14 Persistent Cookies
Other cookies may remain on a user’s device after the browser session ends.
Persistent cookies may be used for purposes such as:
- remembering preferences;
- maintaining permitted authentication functionality;
- analytics;
- recording consent choices; or
- campaign measurement.
Their duration depends upon the purpose and configuration of the relevant technology.
2.15 First-Party Technologies
First-party technologies are set through SnobBots.com or Platform systems under SNOBBOT’s control.
These may support:
- authentication;
- security;
- preferences;
- Platform functionality;
- consent management; and
- other operational purposes.
2.16 Third-Party Technologies
Third-party technologies may be provided by external organisations supporting the operation of SnobBots.com.
Depending upon the Platform configuration, these may include providers supporting:
- payments;
- authentication;
- analytics;
- security;
- communications;
- customer support; and
- other technical services.
The actual technologies used may change as the Platform develops.
2.17 Classification of Technologies
The classification of a cookie or similar technology depends upon its actual purpose and operation.
A technology will not be classified as “essential” merely because it is commercially useful to SNOBBOT.
Where a technology performs multiple functions, we will assess the appropriate classification and consent requirements according to applicable law.
SECTION 3 – Cookie Consent & Managing Your Preferences
3.1 Cookie Consent
Where required by applicable law, SnobBots.com will request consent before placing or accessing cookies or similar technologies that are not strictly necessary.
This may include technologies used for:
- analytics;
- performance measurement;
- functional enhancements;
- advertising;
- remarketing;
- campaign measurement; and
- other non-essential purposes.
Strictly necessary technologies may operate without consent where permitted by applicable law.
3.2 Cookie Consent Banner
Where appropriate, SnobBots.com may display a cookie-consent banner or preference-management interface.
Depending upon the technologies in use and applicable legal requirements, users may be provided with options to:
- accept non-essential cookies;
- reject non-essential cookies;
- select individual cookie categories;
- review cookie information; and
- modify previously selected preferences.
Consent mechanisms may differ according to the user’s jurisdiction and the technologies deployed.
3.3 No Non-Essential Cookies Before Consent
Where prior consent is legally required, relevant non-essential cookies or similar technologies should not be activated until the user has provided the required consent.
This may apply to certain:
- analytics technologies;
- marketing technologies;
- advertising technologies;
- remarketing technologies; and
- optional tracking functionality.
3.4 Rejecting Non-Essential Cookies
Where applicable consent requirements apply, users may reject non-essential cookies without being prevented from accessing the core functionality of SnobBots.com solely because of that choice.
Certain optional or enhanced functionality may, however, be unavailable where the technology necessary to provide that functionality has been declined.
3.5 Withdrawing Consent
Where processing relies upon cookie consent, users may withdraw their consent at any time through the cookie-preference mechanism made available on SnobBots.com.
Withdrawal of consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing undertaken before consent was withdrawn.
Following withdrawal, relevant technologies will be disabled where technically applicable and legally required.
3.6 Changing Cookie Preferences
Users may revisit their cookie preferences through the cookie-settings or consent-management functionality provided on SnobBots.com, where available.
Changes to preferences may apply prospectively and may not automatically remove information previously collected lawfully.
3.7 Browser Settings
Users may also control cookies through their browser settings.
Most modern browsers provide controls allowing users to:
- view stored cookies;
- delete cookies;
- block new cookies;
- block third-party cookies;
- restrict particular websites from storing cookies; or
- receive notifications concerning cookie activity.
The precise controls depend upon the browser and device being used.
3.8 Effect of Blocking Essential Cookies
Blocking or deleting strictly necessary cookies through browser or device settings may affect the operation of the Platform.
This may result in users being unable to:
- remain logged in;
- authenticate securely;
- access account functionality;
- maintain sessions;
- retain essential preferences; or
- use certain Platform features.
SNOBBOT is not responsible for functionality that cannot operate because a user has disabled technologies technically necessary to provide that functionality.
3.9 Consent Records
Where required or appropriate, SNOBBOT may maintain records concerning cookie preferences or consent.
Such records may include information necessary to demonstrate:
- whether consent was provided;
- which categories were selected;
- when a preference was recorded;
- when consent was withdrawn or changed; and
- which version of the consent mechanism applied.
These records may themselves rely upon a strictly necessary consent-management cookie or similar technology.
3.10 Renewal of Consent
SNOBBOT may request users to review or renew their cookie preferences where appropriate.
This may occur where:
- consent has been held for an appropriate period;
- material changes are made to cookie usage;
- new purposes are introduced;
- new categories of tracking are introduced;
- the consent-management system changes; or
- applicable law or regulatory guidance requires renewed consent.
3.11 Third-Party Cookie Controls
Some third-party providers may provide their own mechanisms for managing technologies associated with their services.
Changing preferences through SnobBots.com may not necessarily delete information previously stored directly by a third party or alter settings maintained independently with that provider.
Users may therefore also need to use the relevant third party’s privacy or cookie controls where appropriate.
3.12 Global Privacy & Browser Signals
Where applicable law requires SNOBBOT to recognise a legally valid browser-based privacy or opt-out signal, we will take reasonable steps to respond to supported signals as required.
The availability and legal effect of such signals varies between jurisdictions and technologies.
3.13 Customer-Deployed Chatbot Consent
Where a SnobBots-powered chatbot is deployed on a customer’s website, the customer operating that website is responsible for determining whether consent is required for cookies or similar technologies associated with its deployment.
Where necessary, customers should configure their own cookie-consent systems so that relevant non-essential technologies are not activated before the required consent has been obtained.
3.14 Customer Responsibility for Additional Tracking
If a customer combines SnobBots functionality with its own:
- analytics;
- advertising pixels;
- remarketing technologies;
- conversion tracking;
- behavioural analytics; or
- other tracking tools,
the customer is responsible for ensuring that those technologies are appropriately disclosed and controlled through its own consent mechanism where required.
3.15 Consent Does Not Replace Other Privacy Obligations
Obtaining cookie consent does not remove other obligations that may apply to the processing of personal data.
Where cookie or tracking information constitutes personal data, its subsequent processing must also comply with applicable privacy and data-protection requirements and the principles described in the SnobBots.com Privacy Policy.
SECTION 4 – Third-Party Cookies & External Services
4.1 Third-Party Services
SnobBots.com may use third-party technologies and service providers to support the operation, security and functionality of the website and Platform.
Depending upon the functionality being used, these providers may support:
- payment processing;
- authentication;
- analytics and performance monitoring;
- security;
- communications;
- customer support;
- hosting and infrastructure; and
- other Platform functionality.
Some providers may place, access or use cookies or similar technologies when their services are used.
4.2 Independent Third-Party Processing
Certain third-party providers may process information independently under their own privacy and cookie policies.
Where this occurs, SNOBBOT does not determine every aspect of the third party’s independent processing.
Users should review the relevant provider’s privacy information where appropriate.
4.3 Payment Providers
Third-party payment providers may use cookies or similar technologies when users:
- purchase a subscription;
- manage billing;
- update payment information;
- complete authentication;
- purchase credits or other Platform functionality; or
- otherwise interact with payment services.
These technologies may support:
- transaction security;
- fraud detection;
- authentication;
- payment-session management; and
- compliance with payment or regulatory requirements.
Some payment technologies may be strictly necessary to complete a transaction requested by the user.
4.4 Authentication Providers
Where SnobBots.com allows users to register, authenticate or sign in using an external authentication provider, the provider may use cookies or similar technologies necessary to complete that process.
Information may be exchanged with the provider to:
- authenticate the user;
- verify identity;
- connect an account;
- maintain authentication security; and
- prevent fraudulent access.
4.5 Analytics Providers
Subject to applicable consent requirements, SNOBBOT may use third-party analytics or performance technologies to understand how SnobBots.com and the Platform are used.
Such providers may process information concerning:
- pages viewed;
- sessions;
- interactions;
- device or browser characteristics;
- approximate location derived from technical information;
- referral information;
- technical performance; and
- errors or usage patterns.
Where prior consent is required, relevant analytics technologies will only operate after that consent has been obtained.
4.6 Customer Support & Communication Providers
Third-party support or communication services may use cookies or similar technologies where necessary to provide functionality such as:
- support conversations;
- service communications;
- help functionality;
- session continuity; or
- technical support.
The applicable cookie classification will depend upon the purpose for which the technology is used.
4.7 Security & Fraud-Prevention Providers
SNOBBOT may use external security providers or technologies to protect the Platform against:
- fraudulent activity;
- automated abuse;
- malicious traffic;
- account compromise;
- cybersecurity attacks; and
- other security threats.
Technologies genuinely necessary to protect the website, Platform or user accounts may be treated as strictly necessary where permitted by applicable law.
4.8 AI & Hosting Providers
The Platform relies upon AI, cloud, hosting and infrastructure technologies.
These services may process technical or operational information necessary to deliver Platform functionality.
However, the use of an AI or hosting provider does not automatically mean that the provider places browser cookies on users’ devices.
Where such a provider does use cookies or similar client-side technologies through SnobBots.com, those technologies will be classified according to their actual purpose.
4.9 Marketing & Advertising Providers
Where SNOBBOT uses third-party advertising, conversion-measurement or marketing technologies, those providers may use cookies, pixels, tags or similar mechanisms.
Such technologies may support:
- campaign attribution;
- conversion measurement;
- advertising effectiveness;
- audience measurement; or
Where applicable law requires prior consent, these technologies will not be activated before the required consent has been obtained.
4.10 Third-Party Provider Changes
The third-party services supporting SnobBots.com may change over time.
SNOBBOT may:
- introduce new providers;
- replace existing providers;
- discontinue providers;
- modify integrations; or
- change Platform infrastructure.
This Cookie Policy may be updated where such changes materially affect the use of cookies or similar technologies.
4.11 Cookie Inventory
Where reasonably practicable, SNOBBOT may provide information identifying cookies or similar technologies currently deployed through SnobBots.com.
Relevant information may include:
- cookie or technology name;
- provider;
- purpose;
- category;
- whether it is first-party or third-party; and
- typical duration.
Because third-party technologies and configurations may change, the cookie inventory should reflect the technologies actually deployed rather than merely listing providers that the Platform might use.
4.12 No Assumption About Specific Providers
References in this Policy to categories such as payment providers, analytics providers, authentication providers or support providers do not necessarily mean that every provider within those categories is currently deployed on SnobBots.com.
Specific third-party technologies should only be identified in the live cookie inventory where their deployment has been confirmed.
4.13 Third-Party Privacy Policies
Third-party providers may maintain their own privacy and cookie documentation explaining how they process information.
SNOBBOT is not responsible for independently controlled third-party websites or privacy practices.
However, where SNOBBOT selects a provider to process personal data on our behalf, our obligations concerning that provider are addressed under the SnobBots.com Privacy Policy and applicable data-processing arrangements.
4.14 Customer-Selected Integrations
Customers may connect SnobBots.com with external services or integrations.
A customer-selected integration may itself use cookies or similar technologies.
Customers are responsible for assessing:
- the privacy implications of the integration;
- whether additional disclosures are required;
- whether consent is required;
- the provider’s privacy terms; and
- whether the integration is appropriate for their intended use.
4.15 No Unrelated Third-Party Marketing Permission
SNOBBOT does not grant service providers unrestricted permission to use information obtained through SnobBots.com for unrelated independent marketing merely because they provide technology to the Platform.
Where a third party independently determines its own purposes for processing information, its processing will be subject to its own legal responsibilities and applicable privacy documentation.
SECTION 5 – Cookie Duration, Retention & Deletion
5.1 How Long Cookies Remain
The period for which a cookie or similar technology remains on a user’s device depends upon:
- the type of technology;
- its purpose;
- whether it is session-based or persistent;
- the configuration selected by SNOBBOT;
- the configuration of the relevant third-party provider; and
- applicable legal requirements.
Cookies should not be retained for longer than reasonably necessary for their stated purpose.
5.2 Session Cookies
Session cookies are generally temporary and may expire when:
- the browser is closed;
- the user logs out;
- the session expires; or
- another defined technical event occurs.
Session technologies may be used for authentication, security and maintaining Platform functionality.
5.3 Persistent Cookies
Persistent cookies remain on a user’s device beyond the current browsing session for a defined period or until deleted.
They may be used for purposes including:
- remembering preferences;
- recognising permitted returning sessions;
- recording cookie-consent choices;
- analytics where consented to;
- functional settings; and
- campaign measurement where consented to.
The applicable duration will depend upon the purpose and configuration of the relevant technology.
5.4 Strictly Necessary Cookie Duration
Strictly necessary cookies will be configured for a period reasonably appropriate to the functionality they provide.
Some may operate only during a session, while others may need to remain for longer periods for purposes such as:
- security;
- authentication;
- fraud prevention;
- remembering privacy choices; or
- maintaining essential settings.
5.5 Consent Records
Where SNOBBOT records a user’s cookie choices, the relevant consent record may be retained for a reasonable period to:
- remember the user’s preferences;
- avoid repeatedly displaying the same consent request;
- demonstrate consent where required;
- demonstrate withdrawal or rejection of consent; and
- comply with applicable legal obligations.
Users may be asked to renew their preferences periodically or following material changes to cookie usage.
5.6 Analytics Cookie Duration
Where analytics technologies are used with the required consent, their retention periods will depend upon the relevant analytics service and configuration.
SNOBBOT will seek to configure analytics retention proportionately to the purpose for which the information is required.
We will not state a universal analytics-cookie retention period because different technologies may operate for different periods.
5.7 Marketing & Advertising Cookie Duration
Where marketing, campaign-measurement, advertising or remarketing technologies are used, their duration may depend upon:
- the relevant campaign;
- provider configuration;
- attribution period;
- consent status; and
- the purpose of the technology.
Where applicable, specific retention information should be included within the live cookie inventory or consent-management interface.
5.8 Third-Party Cookie Duration
Third-party providers may determine the duration of cookies or similar technologies they operate.
SNOBBOT may configure certain third-party technologies where the provider allows us to do so, but some retention characteristics may be determined independently by the provider.
5.9 Deleting Cookies
Users may generally delete cookies through their browser or device settings.
Deleting cookies may:
- terminate remembered sessions;
- remove stored preferences;
- require the user to sign in again;
- remove a stored cookie-consent preference; or
- affect certain Platform functionality.
Deletion of a browser cookie does not necessarily delete personal data already lawfully collected through the relevant technology.
5.10 Withdrawal of Consent & Previously Collected Data
Where a user withdraws consent for a non-essential technology, the relevant technology should cease future non-essential processing where required by applicable law and technically applicable.
Withdrawal of consent does not automatically require deletion of all information previously processed lawfully.
Personal data already collected will be retained or deleted in accordance with:
- the purpose for which it was collected;
- applicable legal requirements;
- the com Privacy Policy; and
- applicable individual privacy rights.
5.11 Browser Storage & Similar Technologies
Information stored using local storage, session storage or similar browser technologies may have different expiry characteristics from conventional cookies.
Some information may remain until:
- it expires;
- the relevant application removes it;
- the browser removes it; or
- the user manually clears the relevant browser data.
5.12 Customer-Deployed Chatbots
Where a SnobBots-powered chatbot uses cookies or similar technologies on a customer’s website, the duration of relevant technologies may depend upon the technical configuration of the chatbot and the customer’s deployment.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that their own cookie information accurately describes technologies operating through their websites where required by applicable law.
5.13 Platform Records Are Different From Cookies
Deleting a cookie does not necessarily delete information stored within the SnobBots Platform.
For example, separate Platform records may include:
- account information;
- chatbot conversations;
- captured leads;
- analytics;
- subscription information;
- usage records;
- generated content; and
- security logs.
Retention of such information is governed by the SnobBots.com Privacy Policy, applicable contractual arrangements and applicable law rather than solely by this Cookie Policy.
5.14 Cookie Inventory Retention Information
Where a live cookie inventory is provided, it should identify the expected duration of confirmed cookies where reasonably practicable.
Because technologies may be modified by SNOBBOT or third-party providers, the actual cookie configuration should be periodically reviewed to ensure the published inventory remains accurate.
SECTION 6 – Customer-Deployed Chatbots, Cookies & Tracking Responsibilities
6.1 Customer Websites
Customers may deploy SnobBots-powered chatbots and related Platform functionality on websites, applications or other digital properties operated by the customer.
SNOBBOT provides the underlying Platform technology, but does not necessarily control:
- the customer’s website;
- the customer’s wider cookie configuration;
- other technologies installed by the customer;
- the customer’s privacy notices;
- the customer’s consent-management platform; or
- the customer’s independent processing of visitor information.
6.2 Chatbot Technologies
A SnobBots-powered chatbot may use cookies, local storage, session identifiers or similar technologies where technically necessary to provide functionality.
Depending upon the configuration, these technologies may support:
- loading and displaying the chatbot;
- maintaining conversation state;
- identifying an active session;
- maintaining continuity during an interaction;
- security and abuse prevention;
- technical performance; and
- other chatbot functionality.
Not every chatbot deployment will necessarily use the same technologies.
6.3 Customer Responsibility for Cookie Compliance
The customer operating the website on which a SnobBots chatbot is deployed is responsible for determining the cookie and electronic-communications requirements applicable to that website.
Where required, this includes:
- providing an appropriate cookie notice;
- identifying relevant technologies;
- obtaining valid consent;
- providing appropriate reject options;
- allowing consent to be withdrawn;
- maintaining appropriate consent records; and
- ensuring that non-essential technologies are not activated before required consent has been obtained.
6.4 Essential Chatbot Functionality
Certain technologies may be technically necessary to provide chatbot functionality requested by a website visitor.
Whether a particular technology qualifies as strictly necessary depends upon its actual purpose, technical operation and applicable law.
Customers should not automatically classify all chatbot-related technologies as essential merely because they form part of the chatbot deployment.
6.5 Customer Consent Platforms
Customers may use their own consent-management platforms or cookie banners.
Where technically required, customers should configure those systems appropriately in relation to SnobBots functionality.
SNOBBOT may provide technical information reasonably necessary to assist customers in identifying Platform technologies, but the customer remains responsible for the configuration and legal adequacy of its own consent mechanism.
6.6 Customer Analytics
Customers may independently use analytics services on websites containing SnobBots functionality.
Those analytics services may collect information concerning interactions with:
- the website;
- pages containing the chatbot;
- conversion events;
- visitor journeys; or
- other customer-defined events.
Where those technologies are selected or configured independently by the customer, the customer is responsible for their use.
6.7 Customer Advertising & Remarketing
A customer may independently deploy advertising, conversion or remarketing technologies on its website.
SNOBBOT is not responsible for customer-controlled:
- advertising pixels;
- social-media pixels;
- conversion tags;
- remarketing cookies;
- behavioural advertising;
- cross-site tracking; or
- other independently deployed marketing technologies.
Customers must obtain any consent required for those technologies.
6.8 Lead Capture
SnobBots chatbots may enable customers to collect lead information.
Lead capture itself may involve processing personal data even where browser cookies are not used.
Customers should therefore ensure that their privacy documentation separately explains the collection and use of lead information.
Cookie consent does not, by itself, establish a lawful basis for every subsequent use of captured lead data.
6.9 WhatsApp Integration
Where a customer connects chatbot functionality with WhatsApp or another messaging service, the external service may use its own technologies and process information according to its own privacy practices.
Customers are responsible for determining the privacy, cookie and communications requirements associated with their use of the relevant integration.
6.10 White-Label Deployments
Where SnobBots functionality is supplied through a white-label or reseller arrangement, the reseller or customer may present Platform functionality under its own branding.
White-labelling does not remove applicable cookie or privacy obligations.
Depending upon the arrangement, the reseller or customer may be responsible for:
- its own cookie notice;
- consent-management mechanism;
- customer-facing disclosures;
- identification of relevant technologies; and
- compliance with laws applicable to its users.
6.11 Custom Domains
Where Platform functionality is provided through a custom domain or subdomain configured for a customer or reseller, the technical classification of a cookie as first-party or third-party may depend upon the relevant domain configuration.
